AGEA
The Anatomic Gene Expression Atlas (AGEA) is a data-driven, interactive three-dimensional atlas of the adult mouse brain based on Allen Brain Atlas (ABA) ISH gene expression images. AGEA characterizes the organization of the mouse brain as derived exclusively from gene expression data alone without reference to classical neuroanatomy. AGEA, which is based on approximately 4,000 coronal gene sets, allows anatomic specification and browsing based on 3-D spatial coordinates and expression threshold control.

HUMAN CORTEX
The Allen Institute for Brain Science Human Cortex Study presents gene expression patterns at cellular resolution across different cortical regions and human individuals, as measured using colorimetric in situ hybridization. This Web-based application allows viewing of indexed image sets searchable by gene, cortical region, donor and tissue characteristics.

MOUSE SPINAL CORD
The Allen Brain Atlas-Mouse Spinal Cord is an interactive database of gene expression mapped across all anatomic segments of the cord for juveniles and adults. The annotated results for over 2000 genes are available as of July, and additional data will be available in November 2008.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Updated on July 15, 2008, the Allen Brain Atlas (ABA) site was redesigned to accommodate the launch of the new Mouse Spinal Cord Atlas as well as providing a more seamless environment to navigate to other currently available and future resources created by the Allen Institute for Brain Science.

API
The application programming interface for the Allen Brain Atlas-Mouse Brain was released in March 2008. For the first time, the 2D as well as 3D data are available via a consistent and documented interface. In addition to the documentation, a demonstration application using the API is released along with the source code.
