The "Average Expression Level" graph is intended to give you a rough approximation of the level of expression across the major structures of the brain for the given gene. The graph indicates the scaled expression level for each of the structures, averaged over all of the image series we have available for the gene.
Each of the graph bars represents an average scaled expression value for a single structure.
The graph bar colors correspond to the Allen Reference Atlas colors for the given structure. The standard abreviations for each of the structures is indicated in the example to the left.
Hover your mouse pointer over an individual graph bar in the gene list to see the name of the structure and its scaled expression value for the gene/structure combination.
